Vehicle Breakdown Cover
Even though the cars of today seem to be much more robust in their build and efficiency, breakdown cover is becoming more and more popular for those with used cars. Newer vehicles tend to provide more of a stern resistance against breaking down but there is still the chance. There are two types of car breakdown cover; standard and pay on call out. The standard cover is an option offered by most companies as it is the most convenient to customers. It is in the form of an annual fee and the contract covers you for 12 months car breakdown cover. Within this service there are different levels of cover on offer. Be advised to check this before entering into any agreement. The second option; pay on call out is probably the cheapest form of cover available to the customer (unless of course your vehicle breaks down regularly – then it becomes the most expensive!). It is also where the company will not use their own patrol cars and instead use local breakdown services. The customer therefore pays the local service when called upon. I have been quite fortunate in that each of my last 2 car purchases have been new registrations – therefore breakdown cover is automatically include for three years.
